Michelle Vasquez is an independent communications strategy consultant and the founder of The M Group Global, based in San Antonio, Texas. She advises leaders on organizational change, brand strategy and stakeholder communications, working with organizations whose challenges call for understanding before action.

I’ve always been drawn to work that sits at the intersection of people and organizations. That curiosity took root early, growing up in Uvalde, Texas, and followed me from Stanford into more than two decades of asking why people and organizations behave the way they do.

Throughout my career, I’ve found that the most important communications challenges rarely begin with communications. They emerge when organizations are growing, changing or trying to bring people together around a common purpose. Those moments require more than messaging. They require understanding.

Over the past two decades, I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, healthcare organizations, higher education and professional services firms, helping leaders navigate challenges that influence brands, employees, customers and communities. Every engagement has been different, but the objective has remained remarkably consistent: create the clarity needed to move organizations forward.

I’m at my best when I can listen, ask thoughtful questions and help leaders see relationships that aren’t immediately obvious. Sometimes that leads to a communications strategy. Sometimes it shapes organizational change, audience research or executive communications. The recommendation is always guided by the situation, not by a predetermined approach.
